Release notes: October 12–18, 2026

Changes with no impact on existing DDL/API functions
AI Copilot
- Copilot's attach button and attached-files popover now explain that files are kept in your browser for the project, stay attached across conversations, and are analyzed only when your request refers to them
- (Fix) When you ask on a diagram to create a semantic model, Copilot now opens the model your request is about (and asks when it's unclear), instead of adding tables to whichever model happened to be open
- (Fix) When creating a relationship, Copilot now links the existing column even if it doesn't match the parent's naming, instead of adding a new foreign key column at the bottom of the child table
Semantic Modeling
- Reverse-engineer semantic views from Snowflake over Direct Connect: the object browser lists semantic views, the Direct Connect modal offers a relational / semantic switch, and the YAML of the selected views is read and compared for import
- Autocomplete for SQL expressions in semantic model metrics and measures
- (Fix) Diagram filtering now correctly hides semantic models
Databricks
- Databricks tables now support a USING file format: pick JDBC as a federated source and enter raw OPTIONS text in table properties. Any other USING value is preserved verbatim as an unrecognized format, and generation, import, and compare all handle it, including an alter script when the JDBC format is removed
Global Objects
- Global Standards additions: newly created projects are automatically mapped to a Global Standard once it's set up, logical projects can use data type mappings in their standard, and standard changes can be distributed by email to the relevant project owners
- (Fix) In a new, unsaved Logical Global Standards project, data type mappings are now disabled with a prompt to save the project first, instead of letting you edit mappings that silently fail to save
dbt
- dbt manifest import: dbt manifest is now an import format on the Reverse Engineer screen — a documentation upload applies the new dbt property options and governance fields, and the import applies the merged governance and dbt settings
- The underscore prefix on dbt YAML file names is now a per-output project setting (for source and model independently), configurable in Project Settings and in the Push to Git dialog. It's off by default, so projects that previously pushed _-prefixed files will stop prefixing them unless you enable it
OpenAPI
- Uploading a dbt manifest through the public API now writes column descriptions back into the project, so dbt-sourced documentation flows into SqlDBM automatically
Snowflake
- (Fix) Selecting individual Snowflake functions or stored procedures during Reverse Engineering now imports their definitions, instead of returning an "object does not exist" error
PostgreSQL
- (Fix) PostgreSQL Reverse Engineering no longer drops the default "public" schema when importing into a new, unsaved project
Teradata
- (Fix) The primary index option is now available when manually creating Teradata tables
Import
- (Fix) Importing a sheet that omits a governance field column no longer clears that field on every object (including ownership assignments) — omitted columns are left untouched, and only an empty cell clears a value
Permissions
- (Fix) Sharing a branch with edit access to someone who is read-only on the main branch now surfaces the reason, instead of failing silently
- (Fix) A governance-only user merging into Main now has the review saved — approval status, comment, and flags are recorded, instead of the review step failing with an access-denied error
Project Stability
- (Fix) The first save right after creating a project now uploads the model, so edits made just after creation are no longer lost on reload
Create New Project
- Added Fabric to the Microsoft SQL Server tile ("On-prem or Fabric"), which still creates SQL Server projects
Push to Git
- (Fix) Alter script warnings in the Push to Git preview, and refresh messages on the Reverse Engineering screen, now appear only once instead of repeating
